Colonies In Space (ILL of the day)

There is a long tradition in the superheroing world to have headquarters or secret bases on space stations. From Magneto's Asteroid M to the Justice League's Watchtower, there's something about outer space that draws superheroes and supervillains alike. Perhaps it's the ability to perform dreadful experiments away from the watchful eye of governments, or the advantageous position it gives for keeping a watchful eye on miscreants, or even just for the fantastic view. Captain ILL doesn't have the financial backing to have an orbital secret lair, but it's probably just as well since he has a tendency to get motion sick in freefall.

I thought Watchtower was something from the Jehovah's Witnesses. You mean all this time I've been avoiding the door when they canvas my neighborhood, I could have been talking to Wonder Woman?!?

I suppose it's possible that it might be Wonder Woman, but you're better off continuing to avoid the door in case it's that goober Superman.

It's great to be back in los estados unidos. I was having a really tough time reading those ILLs of the day in Spanish.

You could always use the Google translation tool to translate back into English. I always prefer to read web pages that have been translated back and forth several times anyway; comprehension isn't all it's made out to be.

I used to be on an email list with a wingnut who talked incessantly about being involved in a "low earth orbit colonization" organization. Apparently only those of Mensa-level intelligence were invited. And I must admit, the more he talked, the more I wanted to put him in a rocket and shoot him (and his ilk) into space...

Wouldn't it be grand if we could shoot all the smart people into outer space? Then Captain ILL could finally make some progress in his battle against numbers and mad scientists.
