Interlibrary Loan of the day
Captain ILL, like all first-rate superheroes, has always had an eye for fashion. The Wonderful World of Ladies' Fashion only covers the years 1850-1920 which was unfortunately long before spandex was invented in 1959. Observe the garments on the front cover of this book. Can you imagine Supergirl or Wonder Woman flying or leaping around in clothing like that? Captain ILL isn't sure what superheroes wore in the olden days, but he imagines that they looked pretty goofy. Not at all like superheroes in these modern days who nearly always look incredibly sexy and magnificent. Just check out the portrait of the Captain to the right to see all the evidence you need.

Looks like a fascinating book, Captain ILL. One item that will NOT be found between its covers however is the thong, which was invented in 1974 by Rudi Gernreich.
Bowlingjoe, if you would like a thong-themed book, there are plenty of selections in the Sno-Isle Libraries catalog. Just do a keyword search on "thong" and ignore all the titles in Vietnamese.
Bowlingjoe will not be checking out any thong-themed books that have pictures. The only exception would be if all the pictures were taken at Venice Beach, where the Bowling couple found that only the males wear thongs.
Bowlingwidow is correct. We did the boardwalk at Venice Beach a few years ago. The one and only individual we saw in a thong was a DUDE. As you might imagine, the nausea that I was overcome by could only be described as "epic".
How come on Bowlingjoe's blog we get to talk about highfalutin stuff like truth and ethics, but on Captain ILL's blog we end up talking about men in thongs? I hate to start making rules, but I may have to start deleting posts that talk about men in thongs.
Believe me, Joe, the thong topic is fun and simple to discuss. Let's face it, thongs are silly and whenever we picture our friends, co-workers, or family members wearing one we can't help but laugh (ok, or maybe we throw up in our mouths a little bit).
These other topics make me think way, way too much. I should have kept my promise to myself about keeping my blog a politics and religion free zone.
