For example, the book defines faux pas as "False step. A social error. Something unacceptable." Captain ILL has been wondering what this means for the past few days because people keep coming up to him and saying things like: "Putting the name of your patron in your last post was quite a faux pas." The Captain thought it meant something like "darn cool" or "neato" but, in fact, it was almost the opposite. He never realized that patron confidentiality was a "categorical imperative".

Maybe the Darkside is winning... the Captain has lost the ability to see right from wrong, or categorical imperatives... Or, maybe patrons aren't really all that sensitive when we find out they requested? We could ask Gertrude how she feels about it. Could you please post her address so that we may contact her and assess the damage done?
