Interlibrary Loan of the day

TV Sets: Fantasy Blueprints of Classic TV Homes is an awesome book! Ever wonder how the upstairs bedrooms were arranged in the homes of the Brady Bunch or the Partridge Family? Do you want to know the exact placement of Gomez's steer-horn chair in the Addams Family's living room? Are you curious to see if the Flintstone's have a bathroom inside their home? All these questions and more are answered in this fascinating book. Captain ILL is a bit stumped by one thing though. There are two sets of plans for the Cleaver's home; apparently they moved at some point from 513 Grant Avenue to 211 Pine Street. Obviously the Captain needs to accelerate his viewing of his Leave It To Beaver DVD collection so he can keep up with these important facts.

The story behind the Cleavers and the two houses is that they went through a very bitter divorce back in 1959 that was hidden to most of the public.

Ward came home from work early one day and found Eddie Haskell hiding in his bedroom closet wearing one of his ties and nothing else. June completely denied any involvement or knowledge of this but Ward was buying none of it.

He went off the deep end, drinking Chivas Regal (and a lot of it) every night and falling asleep in his chair with a lit pipe.

The kids didn't fare very well as a result. Wally bought a motorcycle and started to hang out with the wrong crowd. The Beaver did some time at juvenille hall for stealing a gallon of ice cream from the malt shop.

Eventually, Ward was tossed out of the house and moved in to the other residence. He lost his job and led a very solitary life until his body was discovered by Maynard G. Krebs under mysterious circumstances.

June went on to have numerous affairs before finally settling down with Eddie Haskell in the original Cleaver house.

Shame on you bowlingjoe! Just becuase a person has a motorcycle doesn't mean that they 'hang out with the wrong crowd'.

That's quite a behind-the-scenes look at the Cleavers Bowlingjoe. Anyone interested in more Cleaver secrets should check out The Beaver Papers.

I'll be sure and examine "The Beaver Papers" as you suggested, Joe. But only when BowlingWidow isn't around.

Cardboard Queen, if you get a chance you might want to read "Hell's Angels: The Strange and Terrible Saga of the Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs" by Hunter S. Thompson. In the meantime, I hope that in your motorcycle adventures you don't get chain-whipped by a rival gang.

I heard that Beaver died in Vietnam when his buddy Mikey gave him Pop Rocks with a Coke chaser. They're still talking about the explosion.
