The Olivia Newton-John Companion (ILL of the day)
Seeing this book takes Captain ILL back to a simpler age, an age of headbands, legwarmers, and Olivia Newton-John's smash hit "Physical" which caused the adolescent Captain and many other young men to develop a mad crush on the headbanded singer. There seems to be something about an attractive woman in a leotard bouncing around and singing about "getting physical" that does things to adolescent boys' libidos. These days, Captain ILL works in a field where there are lots of women dressed in leotards bouncing all over the place ... that would be superheroing, not his part-time work in the library; librarians do not bounce.

Good job, Captain. Nothing like a closing sentence that should get the attention of your co-workers and increase blog circulation! I wonder if there's a "sweeps week" in the blogosphere for those that have ads.
BowlingJoe (being...um...somewhat older than the Captain) remembers the "I Honestly Love You" and "Have You Never Been Mellow" Olivia Newton-John from 1974 and 1975, respectively. Pop music was a bit of a wateland during that period. Hard to belive but Olivia is 60 years old now.
Speaking of ads, Captain ILL has a whole warehouse full of gadgets and doomsday devices confiscated from mad scientists and evil masterminds. Does anyone out there need a "positron oscillation frambulizer"?
For practices, you want to choose sleevelessLeotards
. The sleeveless style gives you extra freedom to try out new moves. You can extend your arms as wide as you would like without having to feel any pull on your sleeves. The other benefit of sleeveless is it will keep you cool through practice
Although librarians may not bounce, they do love to wear leotards with coordinating cardigans and snoods. We are nothing if not fashion-forward. You'll also note that the colors of our leotards indicate our job responsibilities. I am a teen librarian, so I wear the basic goth black.
As a long-time viewer of Mr. Rogers, Captain ILL is acquainted with cardigans, but he's never heard of a "snood", and he suspects that Kathleen made that one up.
