Interlibrary Loan of the day

Exactly ten books arrived on the ILL desk today, so there wasn't much to choose from, which makes it all the more wonderful to find this little gem in there. Batman: The Dynamic Duo Archives Volume 1 is a volume of illustrated adventures of one of Captain ILL's colleagues. Many of you out there may be wondering how fighting crime could possibly compare to the illustrious job of processing ILL requests, but Captain ILL doesn't look down on Batman merely because fighting crime isn't as important as ILL. We all have a job to do, and Batman seems to to fairly well at his, though I doubt he could last long at the ILL desk. And even though there isn't a single illustrated volume out there detailing Captain ILL's exploits, your beloved Captain isn't bitter and certainly isn't responsible for all the torn and mutilated pages inside today's ILL of the day.

You should be more careful...there are those of us among your nameless rabble of fans who could actually illustrate your story. I draw a mean artichoke.

Are you suggesting that Captain ILL somehow resembles an artichoke?

I am curious, does the Captain have his own version of the Bat-Signal? I mean, what if someone were having an ILL emergency and needed to contact you immediately? Batman has that specially modified searchlight with a bat symbol. Do you have any such thing to summon you in the event of an ILL crisis? Also, for more on the "artichoke" comparison, please see today's thisandthat blog page.

Thisandthat: Captain ILL does have a signal, it's called RINC. Unfortunately, Captain ILL is much busier than Batman so it can be a month or two before the good Captain gets to a request. Fortunately, Captain ILL's arch-nemesis, Doctor Artichoke, is a bit of a nincompoop, so he doesn't slow the process down too much.
