Interlibrary Loan of the day

So You Think You Know Harry Potter is very definitely not approved by J.K. Rowling as the green tab on the cover is very careful to point out. It is, however, packed with over 1000 wizard quiz questions. Here is a sampling: "Was Ron's new wand nine inches, eleven inches, or fourteen inches?" or "Both Harry and Lord Voldemort's wands have a feather from which creature?" or even "From what kind of wood was Harry's father's wand made?" Captain ILL doesn't believe that all the questions are about wands, but the random selection he chose seems to indicate a preponderance of them. Granted, wands are very important but the Captain can't help but wonder if this wand-centric attitude was the reason for Ms. Rowling's disapproval.

Fabulous choice...I wondered if the Captain would be able to resist this gem. I think I can answer at least one of the questions: weren't they Phoenix feathers? Some savvy blogger probably knows what kind of wood Harry's father's wand was made out of; but I'm pretty sure the Captain won't get anyone to guess the length of Ron's new wand.

14 inches (don't ask me how I know)

Dearest Captain, as you may have noticed, many of us have added our "finetune" selections to our blogs. I am curious if there is a reason you have chosen not to do so. Some of your fans would love to know what a superhero such as yourself enjoys, musically speaking.

While Captain ILL often has an auditory device crammed into his ear, it's usually because he is listening to a talking book. He's not even sure what a "finetune" is, but hopefully he will get a chance to complete the music portion of his Blogger profile someday.

I wonder what music Harry Potter would choose to put into his "finetune"? Hhhmmm...one has to wonder... There are some "obvious" guesses of course, like "Magic" by Olivia-Newton John perhaps. Or "Magical Mystery Tour" by the Beatles. Or how about "Pinball Wizard"? except which version would he choose? Elton John's or The Who's? And then there are some other choices, depending upon his taste in music. "Magic's Wand" by Whodini, should he be into Rap. Or perhaps "The W.A.N.D." by the Flaming Lips, (now there's a name for you!) should he prefer Alternative Rock. The possibilities are truly endless. :-)
